How the Crewable race directory works
As of Oct 6, 2026, Crewable lists 4,500+ upcoming races in the US, 1,600+ upcoming trail races and ultramarathons among them. Listings come from RunSignUp, UltraSignup, UTMB, and Endurance HQ, and details such as aid stations and cutoffs are read from each race's own website. 96% of upcoming listings were checked against their source in the last 7 days.
Where Races Come From
- RunSignUp
- A registration platform for running races of every kind. Crewable reads its calendar of upcoming races every day.
- UltraSignup
- A registration platform built for ultramarathons and trail races. Crewable reads its calendar once a week.
- UTMB
- The UTMB World Series events calendar, read once a week.
- Endurance HQ
- Race management software for organizers. A race its organizer publishes there appears on Crewable when it is published, and later changes arrive the same way.
- Race websites
- Details the registration platforms do not carry, such as aid stations, cutoffs, course notes, and prize money, are read from each race's own website by an automated reader. It never changes a listing the organizer manages on Endurance HQ.
When the same race appears on more than one platform, the listings are merged into one race page.
How Often Listings Refresh
- RunSignUp listings
- Every day.
- UltraSignup and UTMB listings
- Every week.
- Endurance HQ listings
- Whenever the organizer publishes a change.
- Around key dates
- When registration opens or closes, a lottery window starts or ends, or a price changes, the race is checked again shortly after. In the two weeks before race day it is checked every day.
- When a race page is opened
- If its data is more than a week old, a fresh check is queued.
Each race page shows where its listing came from and when it was last checked.
How Races Are Classified
Every listing gets a sport and, for running races, a group, when it is added or updated and again whenever these rules change. Directory pages list every real race in the next 15 months; trail races and ultramarathons lead the main directory and have their own pages.
- Trail races and ultramarathons
- A race qualifies with a course of 28 miles or more, or with a clear trail or ultra signal: a format such as timed, backyard, stage, vertical, or 200-mile; a trail or ultra event type on its registration platform; a trail or ultra word in its name; or a listing on UltraSignup or UTMB. Track meets qualify only on distance, and a kids' run or beer mile only as part of a longer race.
- Road half marathons and marathons
- Running races of 13 miles or more with no trail or ultra signal.
- Shorter road races
- 5Ks, 10Ks, and other running races under 13 miles with no trail or ultra signal, or with no stated distance.
- Other sports
- Triathlons, duathlons, aquabikes, and swimruns; obstacle and mud runs; open-water swims; road, gravel, and mountain bike races; and paddle races. Each has its own directory pages, and none counts toward a running distance.
- Hidden
- Listings that are not races: virtual-only events, school meets, golf and court-sport outings, expos, clinics, memberships, training programs and camps, and test, draft, or private listings. Their race pages are marked so search engines do not index them.
A race its organizer publishes on Endurance HQ is never hidden.
An ultramarathon is any race longer than a marathon (26.2 miles), plus backyard ultras, 200-mile races, and timed events of 6 hours or more.
Official Listings
- Official listing
- The organizer publishes or manages the race on Endurance HQ, so its dates, distances, aid stations, and registration come from the organizer. Crewable does not overwrite them with data from other sources.
- Verified organizer
- The organizer runs the race on Endurance HQ with an active Endurance HQ subscription.
Every other listing comes from a registration platform or the race's website. The organizer's own site is the final word on entry rules, prices, and cutoffs.
Prize Money
Prize money comes from what a race publishes. A purse is listed only when the race states one, and each purse is stored with the page it came from and the date it was checked.
Coverage is partial. Many races that pay prize money do not publish the amount, and not every race website has been checked yet, so a race with no purse listed may still pay one.
Prize money is currently listed for 69 upcoming races on directory pages.
Competitive Races
The competitive list is built from facts Crewable records, not from a score. A race is on it when its next edition advertises prize money, it is a UTMB World Series event, or entry is by qualifying (a qualifying time or slot) or by lottery.
Races rank by their strongest reason: a purse of $5,000 or more, a UTMB World Series Major or Final, or qualifying entry first; then other UTMB World Series events, purses of $1,000 or more, and lotteries; then smaller or unstated purses. Each race shows that reason on its card.
Locations and Distances
- Race locations
- A race's map position comes from its registration platform when the platform has one. Otherwise it is looked up from the race's ZIP code, and then from its town and state.
- Distances
- Miles shown next to a race are straight-line distance from the place you searched around, not driving distance.
- Your location
- A location you share to find races near you is rounded to about 1 km before it leaves your browser, and it is not saved to your account. A home area you save keeps the center of the nearest ZIP code, or a point rounded to about 1 km when no ZIP code is near.

Correcting a Listing
Claim the race on Endurance HQ
Organizers can claim a race from its Crewable race page or from Endurance HQ. After a claim, the listing comes from the organizer, and what they publish there shows on Crewable.
